Thank you for choosing Costa Rica Dive and Surf for your Caño Island adventure!
Meeting time & location: Our dive shop in Bahía Ballena, Uvita, at 7:00 AM.
Parking: Located right next to the shop, marked with an “Esferas” sign.
Boat ride: Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes (53 km offshore), depending on ocean conditions.
Before departure:
After a warm welcome, we’ll introduce you to your guide/instructor for gear fitting and check-in paperwork. You are then welcome to enjoy our complimentary freshly brewed coffee and light snacks.
Please note: Full breakfast is not included, so we strongly recommend having a solid meal before arriving.
Recommendations for the tour:
Seasickness prevention: If you are prone to motion sickness (or unsure), we strongly advise taking preventive medication (such as Dramamine, available over the counter at any local pharmacy) prior to departure. The boat ride can be bumpy at times.
Sun & rain protection: Although our boats have a bimini top for shade, please bring a hat, sunglasses, a light rain jacket, and reef-safe/organic sunscreen to protect the coral reefs.
Luggage & personal items: Please travel light. We have a shared dry bag on board for small personal items. Any luggage or valuables you don’t need on the tour can be safely stored at our front desk, monitored by staff and security cameras at all times.
Food & drink: Fresh fruit, banana bread, natural juices, water, and a healthy lunch are all included. Feel free to bring extra snacks if you’d like, along with your towel and camera.
